ELF's Essential Flawless Eyeshadow in Tantalizing Taupe [Review w/ Swatches]

Hey ladies!

I haven't posted in a while and finally have a new product to review. The product I will be reviewing is ELF's flawless eyeshadow in tantalizing taupe. This is a fairly new product and when I bought it I couldn't find any reviews on it so I'm hoping this will help anyone who is looking to buy this and wants swatches.

The new essential flawless eyeshadow comes in a variety of colors and are meant to be used together. There is a base color, lid color, crease color and a color to line your eyes with. The base color is a creamy beige, kind of a skin tone color. The lid is a perfect medium taupe color, it reminds me a bit of confident mineral eyeshadow but lighter. The crease color is darker and more brown, and the line color is a dark matte brown. All the colors are labeled in the palette.

These eyeshadows aren't very pigmented, I don't know how they would show up on medium to dark skin, I have light skin and the pigmentation wasn't too bad. My mom has medium skin and I also bought her this eyeshadow and it seemed to wear fine on her. So I think it would work fine as long as you use a primer/base!

While writing this review I put on the lid color and the base color...and even for me the eyeshadow doesn't have that great pigmentation. I did not use a base, so I will have to try again with my primer and I will come back and tell you if it worked any better. I would recommend these for someone who wants a nice wash of color without it being too out there, it's perfect for day time.

From top to bottom for both palette pictures-base color, lid, base, and line color.
From left to right-base, lid, crease, and line.

Alright everyone that is my review, I hope to get some comments on how I can improve my blog. I am very open to any ideas or comments so feel free to write whatever you feel! Also feel free to write if you have tried this or any of the other colors! Thanks for reading!

ELF's brightening eyeliner in black review w/ swatches

Hi everyone!

This is I think my fourth blog post and am trying to do a review every 2 weeks or so. Once I start getting more followers I am going to be doing reviews a lot more often and am also going to be taking requests at anytime so if you have a request feel free to tell me! So this review is going to be on ELF's brightening eyeliner in black.

I got this eyeliner awhile back and really like it. I have it in black, purple, and exotic green. They are super soft and glide on easily. I don't wear eyeliner often, but when I do I often grab for these. I have quite a lot of eyeliners but tend to use these because I can't see too well out of one eye so it is very hard for me to put on eyeliner but this makes it easier.

These eyeliners are pretty pigmented. In my swatch you can see that two layers of the eyeliner makes it more opaque but one line is still pretty good. These eyeliners also come with a separate sharpener.

Top is two layers, bottom is one.

That is it for now! I will be doing lots more reviews so stay tuned!

BTW, when I start getting more people following my blog, I will start doing giveaways!

ELF's Studio Glossy Gloss in Ballet Slipper (review w/ swatches)

Hey everyone!

Now this is my third review and I am hoping soon I will be getting more people looking at my blog. I am new to this and still learning the ropes, but so far I am having fun doing blog posts.

This review is going to be on ELF's studio glossy gloss in Ballet Slippers. I have I think four of the glossy glosses and I am really liking them. They aren't too glossy like the name implies but it has a nice shine. They aren't sticky AT ALL which I love. They are very smooth in texture and have a nice smell. I'm not sure how to explain the smell, it's kind of like a small hint of vanilla. It comes with a small brush applicator, it's okay, it does the job but I think it's a little small. The glosses are a little thick in consistency which I actually prefer because it makes them stay on much longer then thin lip glosses.  They come in the regular studio packaging, a clear bottle with a matte black lid. I like the studio packaging because it is simple and doesn't look cheap. These glosses are $3 on the US site.

The color of ballet slippers is a nude pink with a hint of peach. The pigmentation is okay, I have very pink lips and I have to apply two layers for it to show up.

I'm so sorry for the horrible swatches again! I can't for the life of me figure out how to take good pictures. I tried taking them in my bedroom and they are horrible and then I took them in my bathroom where there's more light and they still didn't turn out that well. The one's I am putting on here are from my bathroom. If anyone has any pointers they would be appreciated! Onto the pictures:

Thats it for now! I hope anyone who reads this enjoyed it and you are welcome to tell me any pointers or what I could do different! Thanks!

ELF's studio matte lip color in nearly nude (review w/ swatches)

Hi everyone!

This is my second review and it will be on ELF's new studio matte lip color in nearly nude. I have just received this a few days ago and am really liking it. I already have this matte lip color in natural and coral and love them, and will be doing reviews on them sometime in the future. I decided to do the shade "nearly nude" first since there really isn't much swatches out there yet for people to look at. When I ordered I couldn't find any swatches at all so I didn't know what to expect.

ELF's matte lip color can be used as a lip liner and/or a lipstick. It is thin but not too thin, I prefer it over regular lipstick because it's provides even coverage. So nearly nude is a nudey pink with a tiny hint of orange, when swatched on the hand. When on the lips its more nude with a hint of pink without the orange. When I swatched it on my hand, it looked really really similar to the matte lip color in coral. Now coral is a peachy pink and is just beautiful, but I was worried that on the lips it would look the same, but luckily it didn't. When nearly nude is applied to the lips its more pale. I have pigmented lips and it took two layers to get this to show up, but two layers gives it a pretty opaque look. One bad thing about these lip colors is that they show the lines on your lips, so I always make sure that I put a good lip balm on before applying these.

Onto the swatches:

It comes in a matte black long tube with the color of the lipstick at the end(it's actually a weird sharpener, I have never tried it before so I don't know how it works)
This is all of the product that it comes with. It may not seem like a lot but it really is a generous amount for $3!

I apologize for the swatches, I can't seem to get good pictures to show the true color.

Thanks for reading loves!

ELF's mineral eyeshadow in caffeinated

Hi guys!!

This is my very first review! It's going to be on ELF's mineral eyeshadow in the shade "caffeinated". I have a good majority of ELF's mineral eyeshadows and will be doing all of them individually.

Now onto the review. ELF's mineral eyeshadows have to be one of my favorite things from ELF. They come in a cute little jar with a matte black lid, similar to most of the studio line.
Caffeinated is a gorgeous medium brown goldy bronze color. It has a nice sparkly glow to it and like all the other mineral eyeshadows, they glide on so smoothly with little fallout. Instead of a regular powder it is almost like they are "wet", which I think is why they glide on so smooth. Now onto the pictures:

For some reason the pictures in the jar didn't show the color very well. I think it's because I took them near my window and it's snowing so the sun wasn't out. Sorry!

This pictures really shows the glow/shimmer that it has. It really is beautiful and when applied to the eyelids it's more of a nice glow.

Well that's my review, I know it was short and the pictures aren't all that great but I will try to do better next time! Since this is my first review I'm still learning what it takes to take good pictures and everything so I hope you bare with me and if you have any pointers I will gladly take them! Thanks for reading and if you ever have any requests on any ELF products I will take them and do my best to do a review!

A little about myself

Hi everyone! I decided to start a blog to share my love for makeup and to give my opinions on products. I always wanted to do a blog to help people who are looking or deciding on what makeup product to buy. I myself have trouble sometimes finding reviews and swatches on certain products so I am here to hopefully help some people out with this!

As you may already know, my name is Kim and I am 19 years old. I love animals, hair and of course makeup! I have just in the past year really gotten into makeup and the thing I love most is lipstick! My other passion is animals. My whole family have always been animal lovers and we have a house full of all different types. We even have wild deer that come to our yard that are more like pets! Some of them have been coming around since we moved here almost 8 years ago and still come everyday to get fed.

This blog is mostly going to be about makeup products but will every once in a while have a post about random things. This is it for now and will do my first product review soon!! :)
